Most Shopify audits I run start the same way: one product page, three questions. Is it fast enough on a phone, does it give a first-time buyer enough reasons to trust it, and can Google and AI shopping agents read it? This free Shopify store audit answers all three in about ten seconds and ranks what to fix first.
What this tool checks
- Speed: estimated app weight from a library of 197 Shopify apps, render-blocking scripts in the head, whether the hero image is lazy-loaded or prioritized, missing image dimensions that cause layout shift, srcset coverage, page size, third-party domains, fonts and old theme generations.
- Conversion and trust: a server-rendered add to cart form, express checkout buttons, pay-over-time messaging, reviews, a sticky add to cart bar, a visible shipping offer, a returns or guarantee promise, payment icons and email capture.
- SEO and AI search: title and meta description length, a single H1, noindex and canonical tags, Product schema with offers, structured data that parses, image alt text and a social share image.
Each finding shows the evidence from your page, the fix and a link to a step-by-step guide. For the deep dive on any one area, use the Shopify App Detector, the Core Web Vitals checker or the schema validator.
How to use it
- Paste a product page URL from your store and press Audit store. If your store blocks the fetch, use Paste HTML with the page source instead.
- Start with Top fixes. They are sorted by impact, so the first item is the one to ship this week.
- Press Copy dev brief to send the full list to your developer, or Download PDF report to keep it.
The audit reads one page of static HTML, so it complements a lab test rather than replacing it. If you want the full version, my Shopify CRO audit checklist shows what a paid audit covers, and the product page conversion guide walks through the fixes in order.
